The ZRZ professional qualifications open up new career opportunities for candidates, increase their employability and mobility on the labour market, and allow them to validate and obtain a certificate of professional qualification under the ZRZ professional qualifications system for the knowledge, skills and competences they have acquired in an unorganised and informal way and which are recognised by employers. The certificate obtained by candidates demonstrates competences within the scope of the professional qualification, so that the employer can deduce the competence of the individual from the document, and therefore opens up new job opportunities for jobseekers as well, as it demonstrates the lifelong learning and development of the candidate.

Employers are increasingly aware of the importance of quality and development-oriented human resources, as they cannot achieve their objectives without properly trained employees who can adapt quickly to new technologies and developments. But the fact is that the most successful employers emphasise the importance of each and every one of their employees.

For employers, professional qualifications in the HEA are a way of responding to developments and changes in technology and work processes, allowing flexibility and maintaining competitiveness in the market.

Employers are not only the users of professional qualifications, but also the initiators. Employers who perceive new knowledge, skills and competences and want an organised and transparent approach to certification and the awarding of certificates by reference institutions, also cooperate with the ZRZ in development work and contribute substantively to the definition of standards for professional qualifications. These professional qualifications, in particular, represent a new development potential for the sector or for the Slovenian economy, as they allow for continuous monitoring and updating of the knowledge, skills and competences of the human resources in the organisation and immediate reaction to innovations or changes.
